Small Success Thursday

Hello! Welcome to everyone visiting from Family & Faith Live!

My name is Sherry and for those who don't know me, I'm a mother of ten and freelance writer in my spare
time.  (Well alright, I write to avoid housework whenever possible.  It's my semi-virtuous method of slumming).

I've agreed to host Small Successes Thursday. It will be a regular weekly feature of this blog. This is the new spot for anyone grappling with the meaning of life or cleaning of laundry. No promises on my take being the last word on either subject.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button. I'm working on creating a button for you to access with the appropriate non tech looking user friendly link.

But in the meantime, email me and I will email back the code for the button if you want to use it.

Also, if you don't have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments. To get us started, I will share my small successes for this week:

1. I mailed a birthday present to my niece who turns two this Friday.

2. My husband and I went on a date to see a movie! Granted, it was Thor and I did make up 50% of the female population but visually, it has some beautiful moments. Good Summer Mental candy.

3. Exercise is returning to my routine.  Today, I went for a little walk with my younger four. It's a start.  Progress, not perfection as they say.

Now it's your turn. I promise to visit each blog that leaves a link and leave a comment.
Finally, I look forward to seeing how you triumphed this week!

  1. I too, have returned to exercise. I am actually enjoying it. Seriously Shocking.

  2. It looks like we're both getting into walking. I wonder who has the more difficult task in walking. Me with the spastic 19 lb dog who tries to yank my arm out of it's socket or you with four little ones. I'm hoping that I will not only get into a good routine of taking a daily walk but will also train the dog to walk properly on a leash in the process. If I don't succeed, someone will be very sad when the new baby is born and he finds himself left behind when I go for walks.

  4. How was Thor? I have heard good and bad reviews.

Also, thank you for hosting the Small Success Thurday!

  5. Thor was fun. I enjoyed it but then, I am a girl who would go to see Thor and be psyched about it. My husband and I met because we collected comic books and that fundamental level of geekiness has never left. So if you are a fan of Marvel comics, the Xmen, Iron Man, Spiderman movies, LOTR, Startrek, old, new and otherwise and will even sit through the truely dreadful Star Trek movies, and you just want some fun eye candy summer movies, it's a good date flick.

  7. First visit to your blog! I love it. Thank you for taking the job of SSThursday. I look forward to the successes of the week. Makes for a clean break to motivation with the family on the weekend.

I can relate to walking, I am trying to do the same, although in Sunny South Florida, it's super hot, so the evening are my time to walk with my puppy. Wish some of the moms lived closer, it would be nice to walk and have a cup of coffee with the moms on this list. You all sound so interesting and wonderful. God bless! =)
p.s. Thank you again for hosting!

    1. I have gone to yoga 3 weeks in a row on Tuesday and Thursday!
    2. Class trip was successful today!
    3. Calling in "sick" tomorrow from school. I have been hemmen and hawing about this for a couple of weeks now. I decided I need a mental health day.

  10. Mary B Of course it counts! and Joan, it sounds like you are having an awesome week! I love yoga but somehow forget when I don't do it how much fun it actually is.

P.S. To everyone, if you got a comment from Smwbmpfjm --that's me, Google for some reason had resorted to using a defunct email address of mine as my identity.

  11. Thank you for hosting! With a new little one in the house, I often think I don't get much done. Small Successes helps me reflect upon and realize I am still getting things done, even if they are small little things.

  12. I've just linked!

I, too, need to improve on exercise. One way? I've added it to my son's reward charge - get healthy exercise every day. Of course, who is usually with him when he does it? Me! I can't let him miss out on a chance for a star sticker, so it's getting me out there. We rode bikes this week.

  13. Like your blog! Thanks for the Thor review. We are pretty forgiving of most superhero flicks around here too. I laughed at your audience gender ratio comment.
